As pastor, I am truly thankful for the many and varied efforts in which our church is engaged. There is a ladies group that meets on a regular basis and does many things which support the Lord’s work within our church and the surrounding communities. A men’s group has recently started meeting. Our hope and desire in this effort is that on a personal basis to become stronger servants of Christ. And, collectively to be able to provide assistance both spiritual and physical as we have ability within our church and communities. There are Bible studies and activities for our youth as well as regular prayer and Bible study meetings. From time to time we plan various special services and meetings to worship and praise the Lord and have fellowship together. All this is in addition to regular weekly Sunday School and Worship services, monthly business meeting, monthly services for visiting preachers and our annual revival. All this activity in service to our Lord would not be possible without the commitment of many people. I believe that our church is blessed by this activity and commitment and will be as long as it is all dedicated to the worship and praise of God. The scripture tells us in Psalms 37:4-6, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.” Is your walk with the Lord where you want it to be? Have you committed your ways to Him? Are there services beyond Sunday morning services to which you can contribute or from which you can benefit? Are there other efforts that the Lord wants us and His church to support? May we all prayerfully consider these questions.
